If you know me well, you know that I’m always down for an adventure. Especially for a session! I love exploring new places and challenging myself to try new and different things with my work. That being said, I really appreciate the clients that are willing to try new things with me! If permitted, I will happily try for an adventure, and at this session we got one. It involved some hiking, some woods, pretty river views, a little graffiti and some interesting people watching- and look how fun the pictures are! I thank this fun family for trusting me and coming along for the ride. I love how this session turned out.

When we first met this guy (not that long ago) he was tee-tiny! (Like one of our little 5 pounders that we occasionally get.) Now he’s a healthy, growing, sweet little chunk! He was all smiles for us for most of the morning, even though big sis wasn’t quite as excited about the photo session. :) We enjoyed seeing this family and exploring their lovely new home- its always exciting for us to have a new location to work with!

So, that’s years old- not someone’s seventh child. Just had to clarify! Whew! :)

Anyway, Sweet Mr. Collin is now SEVEN years old. I can’t even believe it. This family is near and dear to my heart and I’ve loved the many sessions we’ve had over the years. Collin is such a sweet-hearted boy. He loves his parents, his little sister, and his soon-to-arrive baby sister. He’s the perfect boy to be in a family of girls. He’s great with Hailey and we know he’ll be great with this new little lady too. (See image of him playing the accordion for her to hear, I mean really?!). We are so looking forward to meeting the newest gal in his life when she arrives this summer!

With all the cool technology out there it can sometimes feel hard to keep up! So, when we find something really useful and awesome- we feel the need to tell you, our friends. For all of you that love Instagram (we know we do) this is a site that allows you to back up all of your Instagram images on to your computer as a zip file. It seems silly, but we feel like Instagram is the easiest way to quickly document every day life, and that’s something we would like to be able to hang on to. There are also other sites that provide ways to publish your instagram pictures as magnets, calendars, photo books, etc. Love, love, love it!

I can’t even believe that this little lady is so grown up! I’ve known her since she was tiny and I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to photograph her as she grows over the years. (See collage below!) We had a great little play date and Emma loved being the star of the show! It’s fun to have a session with a child alone because it really gives me a chance to get to know them one on one, as well as the chance to try some fun scenes, outfits, etc. We did all kinds of fun activities- playing dress up, jumping on the bed, riding bikes, and even a little splashing in the tub. These moments are so precious and as parents we all know how quickly they become a distant memory. I LOVE that we have now captured them so that they will forever be preserved.

My, oh my! This household sure does have a lot of sweet girlies in it. What a fun morning we had catching up and photographing everyone- their youngest lady was celebrating being 6 months old. With two big sisters to keep up with I’m sure little L will be running, playing and chatting up a storm in no time. This Mama always has the cutest outfits, fun ideas, and everything monogrammed. :) We love watching these little gals grow up and are always super excited to be reunited with them when a session rolls around!

I am so happy that I got to see this sweet family again to commemorate the arrival of their newest addition to the fam- baby William! He is a GREAT baby. He was so smiley, sweet, sleepy, snuggly, etc. Having a brother and sister that are a bit older is probably pretty awesome for Mom and Dad as well. Big sis is SO good with him. He really liked when she held and snuggled with him. Big brother is definitely going to be a fun playmate as soon as baby William gets a bit older. He really has the best of all worlds. Now that this is baby number 3 Mom and Dad are super pro’s. We had a lovely, laid back session and really enjoyed seeing each other again after some years. I wish them the best as they adjust to being a new family of 5 and I hope to be able to work with them again soon!

Yay for awesome new clients! We had a blast getting to know this new family as we explored the outdoors on this lovely spring afternoon. Their older boys are just as sweet and happy as they can be. They were very polite and cooperative and great with their new little sister. Mom and Dad sure are blessed to have such wonderful big helpers! Little Lady is a sweetie too. She’s very much a 3rd child in the way that she was really mellow. She just wanted to snack and hang out with the family. Mom and Dad seem to have a great relationship and overall the family is really overflowing with love. We couldn’t ask for more! Hope you enjoy taking a peak in to their sweet session.

the thing about spring

Ok, so I know that most of us are probably semi annoyed with spring right now. It’s been wicked on our allergies, and EVERYTHING is covered in pollen, but let’s try to cut her some slack. After all, spring can be so lovely! (Especially after that cold cold winter we had.) It’s sessions like this that make me stop and feel thankful that the nasty coldness is behind us. The weather was perfect for this session and (luckily!) it was shot pre-pollen, Anyway, check back soon to see more images from this lovely family’s session.

Twice the cuddles, twice the work, twice the cute. We love multiples! They are so fun! The good thing for us about working with multiples is that our window of opportunity for the session is much larger than with singleton babies. You see, these babies are two months old- but are just now at 9 and 7 pounds. They still eat and sleep like newborns, but with better eye contact and some smiles. We had a GREAT session with these little ladies. They were seriously so good. We also had a few laughs because any time we laid them together while they were awake they would stretch and flail- resulting in what looked like a mini baby fight. We kept saying “be nice to your sister!” or “no hitting!”. Ha, it was fun being silly with them. This family is so sweet and very blessed. It was a treat spending the morning with them.
