This weather is just about the best one can imagine…
80 degrees and a cool breeze…. life is good…
Mom with three beautiful children.
Nadiya, the oldest, was just under a year when I started photographing her… It has been a blessing to watch the family grow and to document each stage of growth for both Nadiya and her twin brothers.
Three children in a field of grass.
I can still remember the boys when they first arrived home… they were teeny tiny and the day we had our session it was pouring rain. The house was cozy and the children were so precious and sleepy.
Collage of mom holding each of the twin boys.
This momma adores her children and it is obvious that the children equally adore her.

wonderful weather and a precious family

What an honor it is for me to be able to welcome a new baby into the world and to capture that special moment in a families life. It is a triple treat to welcome three babes all at once!

I have to say.. I have no idea how a momma does it with three little ones. However, Lindsay does it with grace, patience and love!

I wish I could tell you that these babies are just this calm and peaceful all the time… but you would know I was fibbing. Right? This was about four hours into the session and we were all hot and tired from working hard. Finally God smiled on us and the babies all slept for just a few minutes AT THE SAME TIME! That right there is probably what makes parenting triplet newborns so tough- the lack of sleep!

These five-week-old beauties stole my heart!

Mason, Will and Elle- thank you for such a fun morning getting my fair share of baby love!

I adore the relationship between twins. The pure science of the connection and the straight up literal tie between twins is miraculous. From the moment I met my next three year old twin girls, I’ve loved their amazing bond. Having a twin would be something I would wish for if a genie would grant me one wish. Working with these girls was as much fun for me as it was a wonder to see them together.

Talk about a family with a sense of humor! On top of the laughter, we had their grandparents, “Pops” and “Bean” join us during our session. One thing is very clear… these girls ADORE their grandparents! If a snuggle or love break is ever needed, Pops and Bean are always there with open arms.

Those of you who know me know I am adamant about my lighting! Notice how lovely the back lighting is behind the girl’s heads. I love using the light to create an angelic affect in these images. I hate to be pushy sometimes, but when it comes to the time of day for a session, I work around the sun! It truly gives the best results…

Mom gave me two lollipops at the beginning of our session and told me I could “use them as I needed to”. I saved them until the very end when the girls were getting tired and I seemed to be loosing their attention. I pulled out those lollipops and was able to get my final shot of the two girls holding hands—thanks Mom for being brilliant and thinking ahead!

beautiful twins!

The R. twins are getting so big! Who remembers when they arrived? They were these itty bitty little gals and now they are a little bit over a year! What a year it has been for this family. A few days after our six month session, mom found out she had cancer. Since that day, her life and her families life has been a roller coaster. Anyone who has ever had a loved one fighting this disease knows the disruption and scariness it causes in a family. For this family of six, it seems to have pulled them closer and made them appreciate even more what each day means! They are passionate about one another and their love of life.

Mom and I spent a good amount of time talking about the importance of all of us going to the doctor and getting our yearly checkups. I know that I am so guilty of not doing this. I cringe to tell you that it has been over three years since I have seen an OBGYN and even longer since I have seen a dermatologist! I plan to schedule both of those visits immediately! It is unfair for my family for me not to take the best care of me that I possibly can. Any of you need to schedule some visits too?

I adore these two images below. Mom and I did nothing to create this- the girls just leaned into one another and this was the result!

One of the girls is walking and the other is not (but she LOVES to push and walk!!!) yet. So, they were so excited about playing with the wagon!

I know it is an overload of images but there were so many I loved and wanted to share. I am just having a hard time today narrowing down. :)

Can you believe that this:

is now this:

This mommy booked her maternity and newborn session with me when she was about 20 weeks along. It was not too long after that when she was put on bed rest at home. Days later she was admitted to Piedmont where she spent about 15 weeks on bed rest. She decided that a maternity session was just not going to work in her small hospital room where she had been for so long. So, she let me know that we would just meet when the babes were born. However, one of my past clients who works at the hospital, convinced her to call me back and ask if I would be willing to come try it. I was thrilled. So, a few days before Thanksgiving we gathered in the tiny hospital room for a very fun afternoon. C. and her mom quickly became friends as we laughed and played for the afternoon.
The call came soon after that session with the news that the babies had arrived! Unfortunately, each baby had to do there time in the NICU. So, the week of Christmas I finally got the opportunity to meet the newest triplets on the block. The boys are identical twins and the little girl will be spending her life keeping those boys in order.
All babies were so calm and happy and with help from Andrea, mom, dad, Grand mom and Grand dad… we were able to keep everyone sleepy and peaceful! Now please let me introduce these beautiful babies to you.

For anyone reading this who has ever lived with a newborn…. just imagine living with three… Here is a quick picture I took of Dad while I was busy photographing another one of the babies. Do you think he is a little bit tired?

Finally a shout out to a dear client turned friend who is anxiously awaiting the birth of her third baby. She is experiencing pre-term labor and is on bed rest at Piedmont. She has nothing better to do then to remind me she is still waiting for images of the triplets to be posted….ahhh, the life…. :) So, sending a little prayer and many good wishes to Cristina for a healthy beautiful baby to arrive soon. Of course, stay tuned here for pictures of this little one when he or she arrives in the next few weeks!
