I adored the six-month-age when my little ones were that age and I adore it equally as much as a photographer. It is the time where the babies are smiling and happy and, most importantly, still! They can sit… but not crawl. It is a glorious age to photograph.

Little Katherine is a favorite baby to photograph. I mean, look at these big gorgeous eyes and these perfect little lips!

However, one of my favorite parts about this child is her yummy rolls. She is in the 95% and I could kiss each little inch of all 95%!

Katherine’s big sister has been a client since she was a newborn and I adore the little girl she is growing into. She is absolutely darling with her little sister. She is gentle and helpful and Katherine finds her very amusing!

We were lucky to have a tad bit of sun grace us for this session. Sun, in Atlanta, has been a hard thing to find so far in 2010. Praying for Spring to come soon!

Happy birthday to sweet Vic who just turned one!

one-year-old child photographer Libbie Wicket
I met his big sister when I photographed her when she was just one! She was a very sweet little girl then and now she is a loving, wonderful big sister.

However, who do you think Vic adores the most? Of course, his sweet mommy!!!!!

I was lucky to get to see many sides of Vic during this session. Luckily we used our first ten minutes together to our advantage because after that Vic was ready to do anything else but STOP.

So, I did what any good photographer in the same situation would do. We hung him from his toes… (in my best pirate voice) until he laughed so hard he cried.

It was such a fun morning hanging out with these two angels! Sessions like this make me a happy girl!

Big brother James is happy with her age because now his sister is becoming so much fun! Eliza has all kinds of silly expressions. Such as this…

Eliza loves to coo and “talk” to James. She is interacting with him and that makes James a happy boy!

Eliza is clearly the apple of her Daddy’s eye. I see this so often… where the Dad’s I photograph quickly fall in love with their little princess. It would be impossible not to love Miss Eliza though….

Mommy is already finding a playmate and wonderful companionship in Eliza. I know how fun it is for me to take “my Eliza” to the store or for her to cook with me in the kitchen. I can tell that Eliza and her mommy are going to have that same kind of relationship.

It is such an honor to celebrate six months with my sweet baby-plan baby… Eliza. I am already looking forward to seeing you in six-months!

Today I took some time to fiddle around on the computer a little. I have so many family images that I have taken and never really had time to look at. I try to stay very organized when it comes to my personal images but often I just put them in a titled folder and do not really take the time to look through them. So, today I decided that I needed to clean up my desktop and organize my images a little. While doing this, I came across these three images which truly made me laugh out loud! Shipley and Eliza, my two youngest children, are two and a half months apart in age. They are very close and they play really well together. These pictures were taken back in October as I was leaving to take the two of them to pre-school. They were invited to dress up in costume for this day and I let them choose what they wanted to wear. Shipley choose his Spiderman costume from last year (I had a scarecrow costume for him to coordinate with Eliza) and Eliza choose her Dorothy costume. As you can tell, Shipley was none-to-happy to take time out of his morning to have his picture taken. Enjoy and I hope all of you are staying warm and cozy!

Many of you will recognize this little client. His mommy is my decorator and good friend. It has been a joy being able to photograph his first year.

I ran into a sweet client this morning while at the doctors office with Slaton for his six-year-checkup. We were talking about how fast life seems to be flying by with our kids growing so quickly. I photographed both of her children when they were newborns and they are now two and four. She told me that one time someone told her, “When you have small children, the days are long but the years a short.” Ahh- so true, especially when you have little ones that require so much physical work. Thanks Laura for that great quote of wisdom!
Finn is the third child and the first boy in his family. He is so loved and adored and I think his mommy would be the first to say she is enjoying every moment with him.

Cristina, Finn’s mommy, brought a cake for Finn to bust into and for me to take pictures of. However, we had quite a hard time convincing Finn how yummy that cake would taste. We tried everything and in the end Cristina ended up with the more cake on her than Finn had cake in his mouth!

Do you notice the back of Finn’s hair and that wispy, sun touched hair? Cristina specifically did not cut his hair so we could capture it before the first hair cut. She knows that the first hair cut is often the first step from baby hood into toddler hood! The days are flying….
I leave you with a dirty Finn. He was not nearly as dirty as his momma but dirty none the less.

Let’s hear it for the birthday boy!
atlanta-child-photographer
Last year, for Taylor’s birthday, we photographed him at the baseball fields. Taylor is athletic and very into all “boy things”! So, the baseball fields were the perfect fit for him.
This year, mom and I decided to go down to the river for Taylor’s session. Do you know any four-year-old boys who don’t love water, rocks, mud and sticks?
atlanta-child-photographer-2
Taylor was willing to work a little for the fun! I asked Taylor if he would lie down on the ground like I was doing. He looked at me and said, “the ground is cold”. Yeah- he was right.. it was cold…

These last few days in Atlanta have been heavenly with such great weather. Our au pair, who is from Thailand, asked if we were now entering Spring. I had to give her the bad news that this warmth and sun would not be here to stay. Luckily, during this session the sun shone brightly!
atlanta child photographer
The sweetest part of this session… how Taylor adores his mom. His mom said she was worried this might be the last year he adores her this much and she wanted to capture that. As a mom of two boys, aged 3 and 6, I know boys are just wonderful with their moms for quite a while. I can’t vouch for past age 6 but i know my 6-year-old is just the most precious, affectionate kid ever!

Happy birthday Taylor and I can’t wait to hear all about that Batman party you told me about.
