And the dog makes 3 :: Children's Portraits

As we all know, our pets are a part of the family as much as our children are. In this family, Oliver is a fur child whom everyone adores. Sadly, he was recently diagnosed with a medical condition that could shorten his life. Fortunately there is medication available that can help him be part of this family for (hopefully) years to come. With this recent discovery, we found it necessary to include him in a family portrait!

They have the typical brother/sister relationship that we all expect. While there can be some bickering, the relationship is based on love. I hope they (and their parents) cherish this image for years to come.

My thoughts will be with this family as their furriest member seeks treatment and I look forward to future family session with these two children AND their beloved dog Oliver.

Secret Garden :: Family Portraits

Despite the suddenly winter weather we were having on this afternoon, it was a really fun session! The location was a beautiful family home in Atlanta complete with lovely gardens, fountains, and even doves! The grounds were fun to explore and refreshing to see in the midst of the city.

These little cuties sure have grown up fast! They were troopers for our chilly session and made our job easy.

Caroline has always been my photogenic rock star and this session was no exception! She is a dream to work with, on top of being cute as a button.

This image is a cute representation of their brother/sister relationship at this stage in their lives. I hope they enjoy and laugh over this image when they are adults some day. Goodbye until next time, you two!

Session in the City :: Children's Portraits

This was another session where I got to explore a new location, Midtown. These joyful new parents live in a hip part of town and we spent most of the session on the roof top pool deck- cool!

Little Alexis was so alert and curious! She’s a sweetie.

Sweet little Alexis sure is a happy girl. She showed us lots of good grins and melted our hearts! Mom and Dad couldn’t have been more proud and full of joy over their new addition to the family.

We got Alexis to catch a few Zzzz’s just so we could capture sweet moments like this. She was a joy to work with and I look forward to watching her grow over the coming years.

A Family Affair :: Family Portraits

When one of my lovely clients asked me to photograph her beautiful family I happily agreed. When I found out the setting would be their gorgeous lake house on Lake Oconee, I was even more excited. When they informed me they were putting me up for the night at The Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds Plantation- I said “When can we leave?!!”. It was a kind and thoughtful gesture that I really enjoyed. This session turned out so beautifully!

Little Will is growing like a weed. He’s a spunky and energetic little guy that keeps everyone on their toes.

As you can see, Will has a lot of family members to love on. What a good looking bunch.

You can’t go to a lake house without spending some time on the boat! (I love exciting new props, haha)

Feel the love :: Family Portraits

From the moment I was welcomed into their home with a hug, I could tell this was a warm and happy family.

Baby Mason is a lucky little guy. His parents glowed with excitement and joy at his arrival. This was a very proud and loving new family.

This happy little guy is a product of a happy environment! I’ve almost never encountered a baby this young who smiles, but sure enough any time his Dad would nuzzle and love on him- we got a smile! Amazing.

Mason enjoyed a sweet slumber while I snapped away. He was a joy to work with!

Afternoon tea :: Children's Portraits

I get so excited when I have inventive parents who create “sets” for their sessions with me. This time, it was a “Tea Party” theme for Miss Arabella. How perfect?!

Not only is Arabella a great tea party hostess, she’s also a ballerina. A girl of many talents.

Arabella is a typical three year old. She would have much rather been playing than sitting for me, luckily it only takes a second to capture a beautiful image of a beautiful little girl.

She’s truly a real life doll, always been so striking and photogenic. I look forward to her many gorgeous sessions to come.
