If you have been hanging around the Libbie Wicket world for years now, you know the majority of my work is with newborns, babies and families. While I am passionate about photographing this age, occasionally I get the call to photograph an older child. Not only do I adore those sessions (children who both listen and do what I ask!) but I also tend to have some of the fondest memories of those children.

This sweet girl is such a beauty. Soon she will be having her Bat Mitzvah and her mom was looking for the perfect image to display. It seems the trend right now is to have the child’s image matted and displayed at the Bat Mitzvah so all her friends can sign the board. It is an awesome keepsake to remind this young girl of this precious time in her life.

What I really like about being with children this age is how innocent, willing and kind they are. With little ones, like my own kids, they often will not walk into a field or want to sit in the grass. With Rachel’s age they just say, “yes, ma’am” and off they go. It is lovely~

Thanks Rachel for spending the afternoon with me. It was a delight to meet you and to have the chance to photograph you.
