How did our parents ever know what to do with us when there was down time to fill? I suppose they read about events in the local paper and they used the yellow pages. Today it is so easy to quickly find out about upcoming events and fun happenings around Atlanta. I have several blogs I follow with good information on events around town. However, for those local to the Smyrna/Vinings area- this one is especially for you!
Are you tired of scouring the web and newspapers for fun things to do with your kids? Then sign up for the Smyrna Vinings Macaroni Kid weekly e-newsletter by clicking here: Smyrna/Vinings Macaroni Kids
Each Thursday you will receive a newsletter filled with all of the great things to do with your family in Smyrna/Vinings and beyond. You can view the site online, but subscribe in order to be eligible for great giveaways, such as tickets to Mulan at the Alliance theatre. Today has me thinking about how much I adore my work. This morning has been such a treat! Eliza, my four-year-old, and I took a package to Lindsay this morning. Lindsay is my client with newborn triplets. It was a treat to hold and rock a baby while for a few minutes while Lindsay oohed and awed over her birth announcements. When we left, Eliza said, “Mommy, she sure has a lot of babies.” So true- three newborns is an undertaking for any family!
Next, Eliza and I went to the doctor for her four year appointment. We adore our doctor and LUCKILY we do not see her very often. Eliza passed her hearing and vision test and was a brave girl for her shots! I was going to take Eliza to school after the doctor but with only two hours left of school, I decided she should hang out with me instead. So, she and I are sitting here in the studio. She is working on coloring a lovely picture and I am working on the computer. Her work looks like a lot more fun then mine.
In an hour, I am due at a client’s home for a newborn session. This is the third baby of theirs I have had the delight of photographing as a newborn. However, this baby is very special because she is their first girl. I can’t wait to meet her!
Finally, I thought this might be of interest to some of you. It is a pull back shot from a session I had last week. I will be posting some images from her session later today but I thought this might be a good teaser. During ALL newborn sessions, it looks like a bomb has exploded as we change diapers, give bottles, clean up messes, and try to keep the baby happy at all costs. This image was taken in the studio. It is always wonderful to have sessions here as it is such a cozy environment and we have endless amounts of props to pull from.
Hope you all have a great day!
