It’s getting chilly outside! I am loving all the snuggling going on in our house! My next family is a very close knit and snuggly family, too. Originally, Daddy is from Argentina and Mommy is from Kansas. God, their family, good times with friends and the adventurous outdoors keep them on the go and busy.
Atlanta Photographer
Two boys on the go in different directions always make a session slightly challenging, but when they sat together, they were great! I love this image. The youngest one, Sam, was such a riot with his hood. I can’t tell you how much I love accessories and how fun they can make a session. He would pull it over his head and I couldn’t help but laugh.
Atlanta Photographer
These hats were worn in the spirit of Argentina—Looove them!
Atlanta Photographer
The weather is really cooling down, and I wanted my mittens! Despite the cold, the boys never once complained…a very obvious sign of a family who spends a lot of time in the outdoors.
Atlanta Photographer
Thank you so much for a wonderful session. I loved sharing the afternoon with you and your beautiful family. Here’s to a very Merry Holiday Season!

For the second year in a row I am participating in an amazing movement to GIVE (“a verb used to indicate that somebody [me] presents or delivers something [a professional photography session and print credit of $500] to another person”).

GIVING is a notion close to my heart and I NEED YOUR HELP! Tell me about somebody…ANYBODY whom you feel is deserving of a professional photography session they cannot afford themselves. You and I know this has been a tough year for too many of our friends and loved ones. Give me their story… give me the reason you feel a professional photography session would brighten their day. Do you remember the best part? …If your nominee is chosen, you will have a $200 print credit waiting for you after your next session.

A few guidelines:

~The person you nominate must reside in the Atlanta area or have the means to travel to Atlanta for our session.

~Please do not nominate yourself and whomever you choose to nominate must be incapable of purchasing my services.

~Entries must be received by December 20th and I will announce the winner December 31, 2009.

~Leave a comment on my blog letting me know you have entered and email me the full story. Elizabeth@libbiewicket.com

~Both sessions must be completed by July 15, 2010.

Many photographers across the nation partake in this lovely event. Please help me to GIVE this gift to a deserving family. Truly, it makes me happy to know I can offer this service.

Think….Write….Send….I’ll announce the winner December 31st!

Thank you for your help.

Much Love and Holiday Cheer.

-Elizabeth

Meet Kate.. or as her Daddy calls her, a “little April”. You see, April is Kate’s mommy and Kate does look exactly like her mom! The resemblance is AMAZING..

Vinings Child Photographer
April is a very very dear friend of mine. As most of you know, in my last life, I taught school for thirteen years. As a first grade teacher, I was able to mentor and host student teachers in my classroom. Two of these student teachers are still very dear to me… and April is one of them. April is one of the sweetest, kindest people you will ever meet. She is soft spoken and patient and I know she touched many children’s lives while she taught. Now she is a “stay-at-home” mommy to little Kate and she is enjoying every moment of raising and teaching her own little one.
Vinings Child Photographer
Kate is a little shy and hard-to-warm up when you first meet her. I sang, danced, made goofy noises, talked about gross things…. but you can’t take the personality out of the girl. She was not going to give up the smiles to me.
Vinings Child Photographer
However, I am tricky and I swing a fast camera… So… I got one anyway….
Vinings Child Photographer
By the end of the session… we were old friends~ holding hands, talking and yes…. even laughing a little!

April and Ryan~ It was such a TREAT to meet Kate and spend the morning with you guys! Thanks so much for asking me to photograph your sweet angel!

a little April

…and another season ends as my personal Christmas season begins. Whew! What a great 2009. Thank you to all of my wonderful clients who gave me the great pleasure and honor of photographing. I am one very blessed and fulfilled photographer as I am able to implement a passion of mine into my life.
Atlanta Photographer
And now I am devoted to fulfilling my three other little passions and one big passion…my loving children and husband! I love this time of year when we are just “us” and celebrate our life, and the life of Christ. Our tree sparkles, the elf on the shelf keeps a careful watch, and evenings are spent wrapping gifts and making Christmas plans. Upcoming Christmas parties, lots of eggnog and a little family vacation are on the horizon and I couldn’t be more energized! I love this time of year and its magic. Re-living the childhood magic again through my children’s childhood is a merry pleasure. I sincerely hope my friends, family and clients are enjoying this cheery season as much as I am.
With all of that said, I’ve officially closed my 2009 books and have exclusively opened my books to 2010 appointments. 2009 was a memorable year for me with opening the new studio and meeting many new clients. I am sincerely thankful for everything I am blessed with and have a very great feeling about 2010.
I’ve recently had several inquiries from clients and friends about purchasing a camera. I am tossing my biased opinion out there for you to take with a grain of salt, so please use this advice loosely as it is mostly my opinion!

Off the top of my head, ease of use, recovery time, and 7-10 megapixels are the most important things to me in looking for a camera. We recently took a trip to Rock City and I did take my big camera. My husband, my mom, and I took turns lugging that thing around (and we were all complaining about it!). I honestly use my point and shoot for about 90% of my family images. I have a Panasonic Lumix 10X optical zoom, and it works nicely for me. It recovers quickly, is very small, and is 10 megapixels. Unless you are blowing up all of your images to a 16×20, a camera like this may be a very simple way to fill your needs.

I am a Canon girl at heart, so my recommendations for an SLR would naturally be a Canon Rebel. Be sure not to buy too much camera for your needs. You need to devote yourself to learning about your camera and its capabilities before you purchase one. I’ve had many friends and clients tell me they invested way too much money into their camera and use only the features that come equipped on a less expensive camera.

With much passion I will end with this: whatever you are using to capture your family’s memories—capture them, download them, print them, and enjoy them. That will offer many moments of joy, remembrance, and pleasure…whether it is a quick glimpse at the images adorning your walls, or an afternoon devoted to shuffling through all of your photo albums with your children when they are older.

Can’t wait to share some personal posts with you as we now approach my most favorite time of the year.

finishing the season and camera suggestions

I adore the relationship between twins. The pure science of the connection and the straight up literal tie between twins is miraculous. From the moment I met my next three year old twin girls, I’ve loved their amazing bond. Having a twin would be something I would wish for if a genie would grant me one wish. Working with these girls was as much fun for me as it was a wonder to see them together.
Atlanta Twin Photographer
Talk about a family with a sense of humor! On top of the laughter, we had their grandparents, “Pops” and “Bean” join us during our session. One thing is very clear… these girls ADORE their grandparents! If a snuggle or love break is ever needed, Pops and Bean are always there with open arms.
Atlanta Twin Photographer
Those of you who know me know I am adamant about my lighting! Notice how lovely the back lighting is behind the girl’s heads. I love using the light to create an angelic affect in these images. I hate to be pushy sometimes, but when it comes to the time of day for a session, I work around the sun! It truly gives the best results…

Mom gave me two lollipops at the beginning of our session and told me I could “use them as I needed to”. I saved them until the very end when the girls were getting tired and I seemed to be loosing their attention. I pulled out those lollipops and was able to get my final shot of the two girls holding hands—thanks Mom for being brilliant and thinking ahead!

Introducing one unforgettable little boy. Collin is a joy to be around any day of the week. His manners are impeccable; his smile uplifting; and he always greets me with the world’s best bear hug! I love every chance I get to see this little guy. Fortunately, I’m in luck since Mom is getting close to delivering a sweet baby sister for Collin to adore. I am honored for the chance to photograph her when she arrives into our world.

I love the closeness I have with my two boys. My husband shares a similar bond with our daughter. It is a very special bond for each of us, one we both cherish very deeply. Collin and his Mommy share the same sweet bond, and it soon will be Daddy’s turn to have his adoring baby girl to share a very special relationship with.

Plum is hot this season! I’ve seen a lot of plum pieces come through the studio this season. I loved it so much; my family photographs are riddled with plum hues as well!

I love this smile! I can’t wait to see you again very soon, Collin! Have a very Happy Thanksgiving…
