Are you laughing? We were… How do you get two, two-year-old to hold their three month old sister. It is impossible but we certainly gave it our very best shot. The boys were sweet with her but they are TWO. So, poor little Kendall was poked, elbowed, kissed, hugged, and given lots of two-year-old love. We only left Kendall in this scary place for about a minute. Just long enough for all of us to see how much these brothers adore their little sister.
The boys are really connected in the cool, amazing, twin/sibling way. They are fast to hug and love each other. However, they are equally as fast to shove and push one another.

A year ago this family got the exciting news they would be welcoming baby number three into their lives. What a huge treat it was to find there would be a girl added to this mostly boy family. Now mom will have someone to pal around with when the boys head out for a camping trip or on some other “boy” adventure.

a family full…

All of the recent flooding in Atlanta has left my next family in a bit of a pickle. The first floor of their beautiful home was flooded, and they are now in the process of getting everything put back together. Despite being betwixt a home and apartment, the spirit of our session was upbeat and full of thankfulness. There will be a lot of work ahead for them in rebuilding their family home, but you would never know anything happened with the smiles and good nature of Mom and Dad.

This little guy, I swear, was just a newborn yesterday. I photographed he and his family when he was first born and I remember it as though it was last week. Mom and Dad mentioned how fussy he was on the car ride over to our session and expected the worst from him, but he could not have been more charming to work with! Those little ones keep you on your toes, don’t they?

Caroline is one sweet girl! I have photographed her since she was about nine months old, and I enjoy watching her grow into a very gracious young girl. Her big, beautiful eyes smile big for me each time I see her.

I don’t think Mom intended on using these super cute jackets, but I had to have them in the photographs. They look so soft and cuddly, I could not resist.

I’ve photographed my next family for several sessions now and have watched these little ones grow from babies to toddlers to playful children. One of my favorite things about my career is the chance I often get to reflect on my history with my long time clients. It is always a treat for me to get to spend time with past clients… as it is just like re-connecting with old friends.

When I first met Mom, Grace & newborn brother, it was like a play date. As Mom and I hung out and got to know each other, Grace colored and showed us her drawings. It was a fun morning, and now I see this little lady growing up and running around with her little brother climbing fences and doing all the things kids do.

Most of you know Cristina Cunliffe, as she is our exclusive decorator. She has designed a gallery wall for this family’s home and I cannot wait to see how it turns out! We absolutely love Cristina’s work and appreciate her impeccable taste each day we walk into our glorious, gorgeous & cozy new studio!

This is so sweet. Grace & William get along so well, nearly the best of any brother and sister I’ve met. Grace likes to nurture William and he seems to sort of like it. It is always delightful to see two siblings get along so well.

growing up…

Two boys and now a baby girl! What a delight for this family and what a lucky baby girl! Not only two adoring parents, but two big brothers as well sure to be overprotective and watchful of their new little sister throughout her life. How much fun will this family be to watch grow? I was honored to spend an afternoon with this family helping to welcome this little love into the world.

All of these sleeping images were caught in about 3 minutes. This sweet little lamb did not want to sleep at all! We pulled out all of the stops; nursing, rocking, noise machines, swaddling …you name it, we tried it! Thankfully, we caught a few of her catching some z’s as quickly as we could and I love how they turned out!

Here are those gorgeous big brothers! Hey guys! Loved seeing you boys again and how much you have grown from last year.

I can see how excited this family is to have a baby girl as there are pink remnants left in each room she’s been in. A pink pillow or pink blanket left behind with a luxurious baby smell. Those are the days I remember well. Pink, pink and more adorable pink☺!

My next clients and I met for the first time on a beautiful morning about a week ago and it was love at first sight. This family is so warm and friendly, it made for a wonderful session. They share such a strong connection with their children that posing with smiles or interacting all together came so easily for all of them. Take a look at this sweet, strong family.

I enjoyed this little boy so much. He has a very bold personality that I instantly appreciated. He gave me lots of great expression and showed me how kind his little heart is by gently hugging his baby sister when I asked him to.

This precious baby girl has a delicate smile that lights up a room. She loves and adores her big brother and watched him so intently as he moved around her and made her smile. It was so sweet to see.

nice to meet you!

A child growing up is a bittersweet phenomenon. Independence, responsibility, less hands-on needs, and growing conversation skills are fabulous and rewarding steps in a child’s life for parents and child. The handholding and snuggling slowly fade into less frequent occasions and you (I, rather) miss them. It has gone by so quickly with my oldest son, and I see it in this little girl who has approached this milestone with elegance. She has two younger siblings and she was so helpful at keeping them on task during our session. She is a great listener and full of interesting tidbits to talk about. ☺

Mom scheduled each of her children’s sessions individually. I love her commitment to capturing each of her children as they are on their own; and now we’ve recently had our first family session. The connection was instant with everybody since we’ve now shared many hours together.
