VACATION
Yes folks, you heard that right. It is my insane time of year but I am choosing to take a break right in the middle so I can hopefully, happily make it through the rest of the season. I am leaving Atlanta 90% caught up on all work so I have a fairly clean conscience.
I will be back in the studio Monday following my morning session and I will get to all phone calls and e-mails at that time.
Have a wonderful week/weekend and I will check in when I return.

My next family is so warm and loving, it was a pleasure right from the start to serenade them on their first professional photography session! Mom, Dad and little H. were so easy to work with, so well coordinated, and full of expression, I easily captured them enjoying each other with complete ease. I love working with families like this, the emotion comes through so easily!

Her little lashes go on and on. It is what one of the many things her mom told me she adores about her! I couldn’t resist this image with her long lashes as the main focus!

Those of you that have followed my blog know I love the serious and thoughtful as much as the fun-loving and giggly. I love to capture a child’s spirit when they are truly being themselves, and sometimes it’s not all smiles. Which is a good thing in my book.

Following this babe around with my camera, I found she adores exploring. I’ve found one of the best phenomenon is chasing a child, dressed in their best, through a wide-open wonderland. Rocks, flowers, trees and pine cones are a mystery to be solved. It makes for some very realistic great images!

This sweet little thing is a fan of dress up! She was more than happy to put the hat on for us! I love how girlish her sweet smile is, especially in a little dress-up hat. In this image, I think she looks so much like her mommy!

It was a fun morning together and I loved being H.’s very first photographer. As a photographer, there is no greater honor. Thank you for a morning filled with fun and laughter!

Soul sisters—the first thought that comes to mind when I see these two girls together. They are so vivacious and giggly, smart and daring, and can respond to each other with a simple look: even at their tender little age of two! Twin relationships truly amaze me with the ability they have to think and feel so similar, yet so different, not to mention, the ability to finish each other’s sentences. I almost wish I had a twin…seems like maybe some parts of life might be easier knowing somebody truly understands your in’s and out’s a little better!

These Soul Sisters are identical twins. Can you tell them apart?

The easiest way for me to tell them apart is by looking straight into their face, as one has a slightly thinner face then the other. Thanks to mom for that great tip. :)

I have had the pleasure of working with these sweet girls since they were first adopted by their sweet parents as itty bitty newborns. As you all know, adoption is very near and dear to my heart since my adoption of our giggly little Eliza. I enjoy watching other parents go through the same bliss I have with Eliza. The love one carries for adopted or biological children is equal and undying, which has been a very settling experience for me.

These girls were born with charisma…one characteristic not going out of style any time soon! At the end of the session, an enormous grey cloud unleashed buckets of water on us as we were walking to the car. Each parent grabbed a babe, I held my camera close and we ran for it! A quarter miles worth of rain and puddles, and just giggles to carry us the entire length! Thank you, sweet family, for an amazing and extraordinary session.

I’m inserting another little quote I’ve found handy in the past. Enjoy!
When you yawn, chances are someone else will too. Ever notice how the same for a smile holds true?

Here ye, here ye, let it be know that this precious family has good reason to celebrate the birth of this baby. Many of you remember baby Gavin’s family from last year. Tragically, Gavin was born only to live a short time on earth. No one understands why… it is the age old question we all want to ask God. Gavin will always be loved, treasured and valued by this family.
After Gavin passed away, his mom and I began a wonderful friendship. It was over breakfast one morning, she shared with me her excitement and fear about the new baby growing inside her. “What would the sex be?” “Would she be healthy?” “Who will she look like?” and on and on mom pondered. Nine months… back then… seemed like an eternity. It was a pregnancy filled with many doctors appointments and much monitoring. However, in the end, I know mom 100% agrees it was worth it all. Look what God’s gift to this family is…..
a girl! An absolutely, perfect in every way, girl!

One guess on who adores having a sister….

There is no denying that this little bundle is going to be so cherished by all who meet her. I believe that after you have loved and lost someone, you tend to cling just a little more tightly to those around you. You realize life is precious gift and it can be taken at any time. This family is soaking up every moment and relishing in a wonderful outlook ahead.

I love this one image of a very wide awake little one… she just stared right at me.

Thank you so much to this family for inviting me to be a part of not only the happy times but also of the sad times. I honestly feel like a part of the family as we have chosen to unite and walk the road of life together. Much love and happiness I pray for the days ahead.

On this beautiful day, the sun was glorious, temperature perfect, everybody on time, and outfits coordinated perfectly with accessories—What more could I ask for except some gorgeous smiles, which as you can see were hand delivered. This family (one of my long time faves), was so put together and stylish, photographing was a breeze. As we were leaving the session, Daddy’s comment of “…and all of our outfits coordinate!” made Mom and I laugh. All the thought that goes into making outfits look effortlessly put together paid off!

Can you get enough of this outfit coupled with her cowboy boots? I could stare at it all day! J. Crew is quickly becoming one my favorite sources for clothing and accessories to use during a session. I’m attaching a link just in case anybody needs any inspiration for clothing ideas.

My first thought when I saw this image of Little L. and her parents cuddling up was, Motorcycle, Motorcycle, Go So Fast… Does anybody remember that one from childhood?
We still do that rhyme with Eliza and get a barrel of giggles each time. I got a little giggly myself when I saw this image and had to post it for everybody to see. Too cute to miss!

I loved this headband so much I ordered a couple for my accessory collection. Remember if you want to use any of my tutu’s or any other accessories, just let me know and I will gladly bring them along. I love how simple this headband is, but adds so much wow to this outfit.

I caught this image, almost as a fluke, as I was turning around. The lighting and sweet moment between Daddy and little L. was so precious.

I’m going through a phase of reading “words of wisdom” and thought I would share a good one I’ve recently come across.
Don’t worry that children never listen to you; worry that they are ALWAYS WATCHING you. –Robert Fulglum
Hope you all have a great week. I think it might be a rainy one…
