Elizabeth Constance Wicket lives in a place not unlike where most people live and at a time quite remarkably similar to the present day. She is not a character from one of those “once upon a time” kind of tales, but is, in fact, a very real little girl who lives and breathes – this is her story …

So begins the story of Libbie Wicket and closes the chapter of my life known as ebs photography.

Yes, as some of you know, we have a new studio and along with the new home for my business. I wanted a brand that matched the business better. Something that reflected the quality clients always receive, the superior customer service they’ve come to expect, where the focus is on the children and their families - pure whimsy. From this desire, Libbie Wicket was born.

Welcome to Libbie Wicket…

*SIGH* So little and so perfect.
I met this family about a year ago at a party. At that time they were a little bit into the process of adopting their daughter from China. As you all know, adoption and China are both very close to my heart! Both my husband and I instantly liked this couple and we hoped that one day our little girls might be friends. However, the adoption process is taking longer and longer these days and even at this point it might be two or three more years before their little girl is in their arms.

Here is the part where God steps in and shakes things up a bit! Nine months ago this couple found out they were expecting a little one. A brother for the little girl who will someday be their daughter. What a blessing this baby boy is to this couple who longed for children and want to open their heart and home to them. They are deserving, loving, sweet parents and they feel grateful for this little fella.

I wanted to start the session with a few of the parents and little T. in the beautiful morning light. While Mom agreed to bring little Teddy out, I knew she was worried about the mosquitoes and other bugs outside. This time of the year in Georgia is always filled with little flying creatures. Dad was so sensitive to Mom’s worry and he literally stood right beside her swishing away bugs in between portraits.
With my work and in my social life, I observe lots of families each year. Sadly, not all Dad’s are this kind and sensitive to their wives needs and wants. I was impressed by how nurturing and sweet this Dad was to both his wife and his son. Families such as this make my heart swell and make me love the small role I get to play in capturing this moment for them.

It took us a little bit to get T. full and sleepy but once he settled we were able to move him around a bit. I was trying to move his hand when he, all by himself, positioned his hands like this. I adore how “little man” like he looks in this image.

I loved this session and I am so excited to watch little T. grow and one day become a brother!

Believe it or not… I have never photographed a high-school senior session before. I feel so strongly about babies and children and my passion to photograph them that I never considered it. I believe, as a business owner, it is important to focus specifically on your target client and then become increasingly the best at photographing that type of client.  For me, I easily fill my books with newborns, children and families and I feel like that is my calling. So, when Kate, my first cousin, asked me to photograph her for her senior portraits I was a bit nervous. Would I know how to pose her? Would I be able to make her look like the beautiful, glamorous girl she is? Would I remember not to sing and make silly faces in front of her? Oh- the nervousness it caused….

Now, once you see Kate you will know that it takes little skill to photograph her well. She is stunning and she carries herself so elegantly. Don’t you agree?

We started the morning with almost no plan as I knew we would drive around and find locations that inspired both of us. However, when I drove up to this abandoned house, I think Kate was scared. I knew she was not seeing what I was seeing. Luckily she, like most of my clients, trusted me and here is one of the images we got at that location.

Next stop… an abandoned back lot of a store…. Now that is glamorous! Kate makes urban look good!

I have to admit that it was a treat to have a client who actually listened to me and responded positively to suggestions I made. None of that is the norm for a three-year-old. No career path change after the senior session but it was lots of fun. Thanks Kate for a wonderful morning together!

High School Seniors

During the creation of Libbie Wicket, the girls at Luxecetera introduced me to these gorgeous albums and I knew I had to have them for my clients! They immediately set to work designing an exclusive Libbie Wicket creation and the Libbie Wicket Premiere Album was born.

The Premiere Album includes 30 of your favorite session images, along with an image on the front cover and another on the back. You choose either the brown or cream colored linen-look cover and then I design the placement of the images in the album so they flow together beautifully. The Premiere Album is included in the Elite Collection or is $1,000 if ordered a la carte this summer.

Isn’t it just gorgeous?

I love summer and all its moments! How great it is to be able to capture children doing things they love to do in environments where they love to be! atlanta children's photographer
This family is so very sweet and it was great to see them again after a year has passed. It is always a delight to see how much the children have grown and what big boys they are becoming. I also like to see the bond that is forming between the brothers. Can’t you just imagine what this shared look means? Maybe something like, “These people are crazy if they think we are going to sit here and smile for them!”.

This little fella is getting close to his second birthday. However, you would be amazed and shocked if you met him. I am just guessing but i think he has a four-year-old vocabulary. It is totally amazing. His speech is so clear and he is so articulate. I told his parents that they might have a very smart little guy on their hands!
Atlanta Children's Photographer
Here is big brother who likes lots of things.. like the Mickey Mouse Playhouse. He is three-years-old. I think all parents here can relate to the fact that “three-years-old” is a code word for “will not listen to me”. I have two three-year-olds so I feel very confident when dealing with them and also knowing what to expect. This fella was having a little bit of a hard time listening so I sent the rest of the family away and then he magically began listening again. Why is it that our children are always better for others then they are for us? Oh well!
Atlanta Children's Photographer
Not only is this one very good looking family but they are BEAUTIFUL on the inside too. I can’t wait for them to see their whole gallery!
