If you are a faithful blog reader, you know how important this organization is to me. I am honored to have worked with many families in their darkest hours while losing a child. One of my recent families wrote this, “Thank you for donating your time and energy to us and others through NILMDTS. You will never know what a true gift you give to grieving parents.” I love to help and I am hoping you might consider helping too.

With the Month of October being recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, The Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation holds its Annual Fund Drive for six weeks starting in mid-September and ending in October.

President Ronald Reagan enacted Proclamation 5890 in October of 1988 to recognize that each year, approximately a million pregnancies in the United States alone end in miscarriage, stillbirth, or the death of a newborn child. Reagan stated, “A national observance offers us the opportunity to increase our understanding of the great tragedy involved in the deaths of unborn or newborn babies. It also enables us to consider how, as individuals and communities, we can meet the needs of bereaved parents and family members… ” To read the full Proclamation signed by Reagan, CLICK HERE.

If you are in a place to make even a small contribution to NILMDTS, please know that doing so will continue to allow the organization to provide improved resources, training, communication, and other tools necessary in support of our amazing contingent of professional photographers who provide the gift of free remembrance portraiture to families in need.

Our next project we are working on is an online, interactive webinar version of our Formal NILMDTS Training taught by Co-Founder Sandy Puc’ allowing anyone in any country with access to a computer to complete the course online. Donations help make programs like this a reality!

WhooHoo! I love this time of year. I have been at the studio proofing sessions ALL DAY and I seriously cannot sit in front of a computer for another second! So, I am off to the fair with my sweet husband and the crazy kiddos.

However, before I go, I first must share these DARLING children with you… I LOVE these kids. This is my third holiday season photographing them and I cannot believe how big they have gotten. They are losing teeth and getting so tall. I really must find an image from our first session to share with you all. You too will not believe how much they have grown!

Without further ado… meet some kiddos I adore!

So, seriously… I wrote this post and then realized the images are on another hard drive… not at the studio. Duh…. So, hang on out there and I will be back later with some images. Happy Fall Day to you all!

heading to the fair…

Six months… it is bliss. It is the time that you, as a parent, finally feel you are beginning to get a handle on being a parent. You begin to sleep a little more and life seems a like a better place. It is also the time when a child begins to get more of a personality. They smile a little more and they are so expressive. Best of all, they actually sit on their own and they stay! It is certainly the beginning of what will become an active, loud, silly child!

This little fella arrived in such a cute outfit. I like when parents make a little bit of a leap and venture for something unique and fitting of the child’s personality. Mom and Dad told me what a sweet, happy baby they have and I certainly agree. It was a pleasure seeing all the expressions this little guy has!

Did I mention what a happy little fella this is?

Did we get him naked? Well. of course… nothing is better than little baby skin!

Finally, a little snuggle with mom and with dad!

I am so far behind this week. I am over scheduled (26 families this week!!!) and running short on time. It always happens at this time of year. It is 8AM and I need to be on the road in just a few minutes for a 6 month session I have this morning. So, forgive me for being brief with my words when posting the next few families. I am hoping I will be able to properly catch up next week.

The great news is that I do not have to say much about this family…. Seriously, look at how beautiful they all are. The boys were so handsome and well-behaved! It was fun working with them!

An up-close look at both boys…

Do you think these boys are “all boy” or what?!!?

Finally, the good looking people responsible for the good looking boys! They really make such a handsome couple!
