I wrote this post tonight and them realized no where had I mentioned the service that I (and thousands of volunteers) offer through NILMDTS. Please, please, please, if you know of anyone who needs this service- follow the link and find a photographer for them!

I have been putting this blog entry off. I don’t quite know where to begin. Why? It is unfair that this baby was born without the ability to function as other babies. It is unfair that this babies mom, dad and the rest of the family prayed and expected this baby to live a full life, just as the other children have. It makes no sense to me that this very perfect, beautiful baby, will not lead the life that we all thought he would.

At this moment, it matters not what caused this precious baby to have his time on earth be brief. All that matters right now is that the family members are enjoying their time with baby G. no matter how brief it might be. I am so honored that this family invited me to be a part of baby G.’s short time on this earth. I was able to photograph him last week in the NICU at Egleston.

It is worth celebrating that as of today baby G.  is at home being loved on by so many people. Only God knows when baby G.’s time on this earth will be done. Until then, we are all called to pray for this family. If you personally know them, please reach out to them in kindness of some sort. If you do not know them, please pray for their family. The days ahead will bring many tears, lots of long nights and hopefully some wonderful, bittersweet memories. My prayer is that this family will be able to enjoy each moment with baby G. When God does call him to join heaven as one of his very special angels the family is able to find peace and solace in the knowledge that baby G.’s life had purpose and meaning.

This little guy was determined to be my cupcake destroyer! Each time I would hand him my darling little cupcake, he would look up at me with a sly little smile and then he would begin to pull on the felted wool. Yikes- I love that cupcake…. "Stop" I would say and he would grin. He reminds me of three other children I know well, Slaton, Shipley and Eliza. Always testing to see the boundaries and just a bit mischievous. Isn’t that what childhood is all about? The morning was beautiful and the sun was sprinkling golden rays all around us. I love the early morning sun in the park!

If you are like me, and most of you are, finding time to read anything longer then a few sentences is often hard. However, I am addicted to reading other people’s Blogs and websites. There is a lot of good reading out there with so many people blogging today. I am guessing about 50% of my clients have a Blog now and I am always flattered when asked if they can link their Blog to mine.  It is fun for me to read my clients Blogs in between the months that I do not see them or their children. This is the website of a children’s singer who I love. When I taught, I used all her CD’s in my classroom and now I am using them with my own children. She does not have the best voice ever (so my husband says) but her songs will teach your children things you did not know they could learn. I highly recommend these CD’s for children 3 and up.

It always amazes me when I see such a teeny tiny mom with a great big newborn! This fella was hefty fro only being about a week old. However, like most big babies, he is a great eater and a great sleeper.
When I walked into this house I was immediately so happy. The house is an old 1920′s house (which I LOVE) and they have decorated it in lots of bright bold colors. The house had great arches and cool nooks and when you walk in you just have to feel happy! It was such a fun session for me to be in a great location,  with laid-back fun parents and a newborn that was just so cute.

Two months of age is not a common time for me to photograph a baby. However, we wanted Dad to be in the images and that meant waiting a bit after the baby was born. This sweet fella has the most beautiful blue eyes. I have to admit that I am always drawn to people’s eyes. The eyes are "the windows to the soul" and I think, especially in older people, you can tell a lot about the person by looking at their eyes. However, with babies all you see is innocence and love radiating from their eyes. They are helpless and needy and their eyes display all of this. Thank you to the T. family for letting me share in the joy of this beautiful blue-eyed baby boy!

The weather was perfect, the clients were beautiful…what more could I ask for in a session? I saw these little ones around this time last year, but I still can’t believe how big they got! We all had so much fun, even Mr. J. who decided to take a little dip in the creek!
