Last weekend we had a big party at our house! Both my "babies" turned two! We had a carnival themed party for Shipley and Eliza. There were tons of people, some passing tornado’s that steered clear of our exact location and lots of yummy food and cake. It was a very special day for us. Jeff and I are so proud of our children and it is hard to believe that we finally have all of our children over the age of two. Next goal…. potty training! Happy Easter to all of you. The studio will be closed on Friday but we will be back at work on Monday.

Playing with the "fun mirors."

This little wee one arrived six days before her session. She was so perfect. Her little toes and her scrunched up nose. My goodness, every little part was just right. I love that newborn cry and that newborn yawn. I most of all love that I do not have a newborn in my house anymore. The last two nights we (okay, I have to say, Jeff…love that guy) have been up several times a night with Shipley. Whew… makes you so tired the next day. Anyway, not missing those middle of the night feedings but I do love those babies!

The odds were against us… but we pulled through! We arrived at the park and little miss priss was in a wonderful mood. She was smiling and happy and the session was off to a great start. Then, we had the tumble… the chair was not far off the ground but she did fall right on her face. We all thought her hands would catch the brunt of the fall but we could see the hands go out and then the face touch the ground. All was not lost… it took a bit but she began to pull herself back together. Just about that time, a strange dog with no collar appeared. We were all a little worried about the dog. Luckily, after a while, we found someone at the park who knew the dog and said he was mild mannered. So, we kept on going. After a bit, little G. was just fine- she bounced back- like kids amazingly do. I am more then pleased with our images from that morning… it did seem though that the odds were against us.

Last week I had a session in Brookhaven. This is not entirely unusual, I have several clients in Brookhaven, but it is not as if it is Vinings, Buckhead or Smyrna where the majority of my clients are located. So, I get turned around on the way to their house and I call to make sure the route I am taking is the fastest one. Then, yesterday, I am again heading to Brookhaven. I jump in my car, hit the interstate, and then realize I need to look at the Mapquest directions to see where I am going. Only then did I realize that Mapquest has me going to the same place I went the Friday before- just one street over. Not only are these clients neighbors but they also know each other through the neighborhood. Funny enough, they were both client’s from referrals- but two different past clients referred them. Funny how life is this big circle….

Both mom’s are BEAUTIFUL and so very very sweet! Of course the children all were not only precious looking but kind in heart and personality. So, here is the sneak peek for both of these families.

Another sweet little angel….. I told you this month is filled with itty bitty newborns. Little E. was actually almost two weeks old for her first photography session. She was so good for us. She slept a bit and nuzzled right up to her big brother when he held her. I love the image above for several reasons… First of all, her feet and legs are so darling. I can position a baby in all sorts of ways but their is no better position then when they position themselvess.  Secondly, can’t you just feel the mother/child connection in this image? Mom is so in love with her baby and that makes baby so happy and secure. In my opinion, there is nothing more magical and beautiful then a mother and a child.

Happy Birthday to this little fella. I am always sort of sad when one of my baby planners year has come to an end. I just fall so in love with them and with their families. I know I will see much more of James in the years to come but it is always such a sweet first year.
