You all know how much I love to photograph these itty bitty new babies. This time of the year I am so busy that I have to turn some newborn clients away and so I end up with not as many little ones. Since I do not get as many, I tend to really savor the ones I have.
This little fella was four weeks the day I photographed him. We tried to work out a sooner time but with the holiday schedule- this was the soonest we could get together. When I walked in I was met by this beauty:

Yep- she is “THE BIG SISTER”. She was so sweet with little H. She rubbed his head, gave him big hugs and talked to him in her “mommy voice”. H. is one lucky little guy to have her as a big sister!

Mom told me how very tired she was… I told her that I distinctly remember those nights! "Those nights" are what keep me from ever having another infant in the house. I know they are so hard, especially when you have an older child to be "fresh" for the following day. Mom was worried she looked as tired as she felt but I really thought she looked beautiful.

Little H.’s room was so lovely that we had to photograph some in there. We want him ot be able to look back one day and know all the love and work his mom put into his bedroom.

Finally… the prince himself!

A thank you to big sister G. for the beautiful pumpkin she painted and gave to me before I left her house. I felt so touched that you choose me to have your beautiful masterpiece. Thank you sweetie!

a little newbie baby…

This little guy is just about the cutest baby I have seen in a while. I was captivated by his really cute looks and his laid back, happy personality. He was so much fun to photograph. He let mom and me mess around with him a bunch while he stayed happy the whole time. Certainly not the norm when it comes to this age.

I brought my newborn bowl (I am sure you have all seen!) to this session. I thought it might be fun to try with this age child. What I did not think about it that the bowl itself does not have a flat bottom! So, look what little A. was able to do:

Look who is beginning to crawl…

A peek at why little mister a. is so cute!

Two of my favorite images from the session…

Meet V. and C.- twins.. though nothing alike in any way I can tell. V. (the girl) is very sweet, affectionate, eager to please and happy to be photographed. C. (the boy) is excited, on-the-go, tender but strong, and does not like having his picture made. So, what is a photographer to do… Well, just try my best to make it as fun as it possible can be. I am thrilled with the results of our session.

C. and V.’s daddy and I went to elementary school together and their mom and I have become friends over the past two years. I am struck by how much I see both their mom and their dad in each of them. Aren’t they each so stunningly beautiful?

Maybe they were just putting on a good act for me but they got along so well while we were together…well, until the session was over…but who is counting that! :)

Look how styling these two are. By the way, little V.’s skirt came from one of my FAVORITE stores, Mini Boden.
If you are ever looking for a fresh style for your kids- this is it. I buy almost all my boys their clothes from here!

looks like…their daddy and their momma…

Lucky me, I just enjoyed my first official date night with my oldest son. I honestly have always dreamed of the time when my kids are old enough to have an outing one-on-one with mommy. Today, after my newborn session, I called home and asked Slaton if he would like to go on a date tonight with mommy and he said, “really, really? I can’t wait”. I could hardly wait either.
At 5:30 we went and picked up Andrea and her oldest, Ava, and we headed to…

THE FAIR… again! You might want to laugh at me for visiting the state fair twice in a week but these evenings have been two of my favorite of 2008! Again tonight had so much fun. We bought $50 of tickets and that covered us riding just about everything we wanted to! We ran into lots and lots of friends along the way and we ate fair food. We even sat and watched Lonestar play for a while. I believe the fair is here for a few more days if you can make it… I promise you it will be so much fun!

So, I am running a bit behind on a couple of galleries and my house is sort of a mess… but we have certainly enjoyed the Fall weather and being together as a family. Now honestly, isn’t that so much more important?

We did have a good time! I don't wish for time to pass but I am hoping next year she will warm to more of the rides. :) Sep 26th, 2008, 9:09AM

date night…

sweet little V.  This is my sixth session with this family. I know and love them and they know and love me. I met mom for V.’s one-year session about a month ago. V. cried for 25 minutes straight. He was really really sick so we called it a day and re-scheduled.

Then, I met Dad last week to try again. Dad put V. down to get a toy out of the bag and V. began to cry, and cry, and cry, and cry, and cry. Would you believe me if I told you that he cried for almost an hour straight? Dad is a very patient man and we thought if we were silly, crazy, and happy enough, V. might join in too. We were seriously wrong! Finally, I had an idea. ” Let’s leave the park and head to the house” I said. It was just a thought but I prayed he might be happy there. I knew it was a long shot but one we were all willing to try. I kid you not, we arrived home and not one little tear from then on. Typically, children LOVE to be in the park and a little out of their element but V. clearly is not one of those kids. I love a kid that marches to his own beat. :)

Can you believe how happy he is?

Sweet, sweet daddy!

I love this because just behind V.’s head you can see some of his little newborn images.

I just love the little 6 to 12 month babies I photograph. They sit still, smile beautifully, and make my heart melt. I was lucky enough to photograph this little gal last week and then today I had a little boy the same age and just as darling. Drool and all…. it is the greatest age!

I had forgotten about this adorable jacket my niece gave me when she outgrew. :) I realize it is not Easter but how can anyone resist this precious little bunny?

We all love a little kissing!

Finally, you have to meet grandaddy! He made it to little A.’s newborn session too. He is such a hoot and he was really concerned that I make time to photograph him with little A. He loves, loves, loves his sweet little A. I think he will be pleased to see this. :)

Finally.. one last one if you are not yet convinced of how amazingly wonderful she is!

I always love the baby rolls!!!!!
