Little Miss E. came to the park to play with me yesterday. I was certainly much more excited to see her then she was to see me. E. should know me really well- this is our fifth session- but she was not sure about me, the park, or anything we were trying to force her to do (such as stop for a half a second or not fall in the water). At some point in the session I told mom, “I think I have more pictures of her behind then her front.”  Turns out she just needed some extra snuggles from her mommy and daddy.

Still little E. just wanted to rest…

We insisted she play with us some!

She was rather serious about the whole matter!

Finally, I asked mom and dad to sneak away for a few minutes and leave me alone with E. I was singing to her and just letting her do her thing. Finally I got quiet and I heard a sweet little voice singing. She had been singing along with me! So sweet!

It turned out to be a wonderful session! This is a very favorite family of mine and it is always a blessing to photograph little E. and her family!

Last night, here at the beach, we had a full moon. It was the perfect night for the pirates to land.  Before the children went to bed, we told them that we fully expected that the pirates would be coming ashore and burying their treasures. Sure enough, we woke this morning to find that the pirates let us a treasure map!

Slaton was so excited but we had to wait through the rain before we could go hunt for the treasure!

Finally it was off to the starting place… the bench on the beach…

The children all had their shovels and they followed the map (along with the other clues :) ).

And before long… we found the buried treasure. Slaton found his treasure first!

Before long the other children found their treasure too!

The opening of the treasure was almost as fun as the hunt for it!

Just after I took these pictures… the sky opened up! The wind started whipping and the tent began swaying. Jeff and I got the tent down while my mom and Wawa got the children inside. Ahh- life at the beach can sometimes be crazy.

the pirates came this morning

We had so much fun today here in Hilton Head! This afternoon we headed down to harbor town to have a little hang out, shopping, relaxing time.

We looked at all the boats and we blew bubbles.

We climbed up all 100 steps (yes, I carried a 30 pound Eliza all the way up!!!!!) of the lighthouse. The view was beautiful!

After walking lots- we all needed a little drink treat. Not much is better then pink lemonade on a really hot day!

After we got home we hit the beach for a few pictures of the kiddos. Evening on the beach is one of my favorite times!

Hopefully you are not feeling overwhelmed with all my images… but another sampling of my dramatic little beauty.

My husband is the very best daddy in the whole world!!!!

My favorite image of the whole day is Wawa (our awesome au pair) with the children. The picture is so sweet and what a blessing Wawa is to our family.

It looks like y'all had a great time -- I completely appreciate the climb to the top of the lighthouse...we haven't done it yet, but I imagine very soon I'll carry Will up that same climb...but how beautiful once you got there. My other favorite image is of Eliza sipping her pink lemonade -- so dang cute!!! Jul 21st, 2008, 11:07PM

and what more does a one-year-old need on the beach then some shovels and a pail?

and a little more beach….

Yes indeed, I am loving a little time with my family- here at the beach. However, I wanted to show you a little bit of my sweet client’s family who I photographed here a few days ago. The family is filled with such precious children with kind, sweet, funny hearts. On Thursday night we photographed all the family together and then the next day I came back and photographed anyone who wanted to come hang out on the beach with me. I will post some today of the whole crew and then the rest of the “fun” unplanned day a little later.
The entire crew:

Just the kiddos:

It was so windy that we started up in the sand dunes and then we headed to the beach.

The beautiful sisters..

How well taken care of is this little fella. A host of big sisters and a brother to watch over him!

Little W. has NO FEAR of the ocean. Seriously, you would put him down and he would take off running right into the water. I was watching him run into the ocean when the wave came and wiped him out. He was just fine, not even really upset… this image says it all:

Meet my newest neighbor… miss ansley! I am so thrilled to help welcome her into this world! Ansley already has two big brothers to watch over and protect her. However, she will also have all three of the Smith children who will think it is really fun to have a baby close by! Before leaving for the beach (literally car packed to the top and on the way out of town) I stopped at the hospital to welcome this precious little angel! I can’t wait to be a snuggle her (and then leave her with her mommy :) )!!!

Can you believe how wide eyed this two day old is:

And the hair!!!! Both of her brothers had this much hair too!!!

Strong little girly already holding her paci by herself…

And last but not least… such a newbie in the hospital cart portrait!
