These kids are so darling and I knew that the only way they could be any cuter was to loose their shoes for the pictures. Poor big brother S. was not into having his shoes off! His mom and I kept telling him it was jsut for one more minutes as the minutes ticked by. I really did feel bad for him but it was for the greater good of the images. Is that so mean? At least mom was brilliant in thinking to bring snacks and juice for both kids. We used those items as rewards and kept buying ourselves just a few more minutes. I do believe you will all agree with me that it was worth the pain for the images below!

These pony tails are the cutest ever!!!!!

How sweet is this! We asked little Miss K. to give her brother a hug and here is what we got!

Then we suggested she give him a kiss! Too funny!!!!!

I adore (let me say it again….), I adore clients who say, “do as you wish, I totally trust you”. Let me just take a moment to say thank you to each of you who have said that to me!!!! I hear those words frequently from clients who have had multiple sessions with me… they trust me! I totally know that it takes time to build trust and sometimes the first session is a big ice breaker for all the fun that will come from future sessions. However, every once in a while, I get a client who immediately trusts me and tells me so! This was one of those clients. She and her husband were so excited about their session and they were willing to do anything I came up with or asked them to do.

This session was so fun for me. I honestly could have stayed and kept photographing for another hour but little Miss S. was ready for a full feeding and for me to leave her alone. :)

When mom booked this session we talked about pictures with the older sibling and I prepared her that it might be hard. I feel obligated to tell parents that often the older sibling is not quite as into the baby as they would hope. With a toddler sibling it is sometimes hard to get them to hold the baby or for that matter to show any interest in the baby. Mom agreed but did tell me how great her oldest is and how she was sure he would be good with the baby. Well, she was right. He was so well behaved and sweet with his new sister. Not only that but what a good looking pair they make!

I can’t get enough of these two!

This sweet daddy went to school with me and was in my sister’s class! I have to send out MAJOR kuddos to him for helping me unload and load my car with so much newborn stuff. Thank you!

And we all say, “AWWWWW”. Just so beautiful!

Last but not least this beautiful mommy! I have so many beautiful ones of her with baby S. I cannot wait for her to see the gallery!
And a special note for Rebecca…. I love the music you put together for little Miss S. Could I talk you into making a second copy for your photographer? Pretty, pretty, pretty please…..

I told you there have been lots of brothers lately. However, this is by far my largest group of brothers. They range in age from 5 years to 13 years. Two of the brothers are only one day apart in age which makes my children (who are two months apart) seem so normal. I love families who have a heart for adoption and, like my family, have a mix of adopted and biological children. When you adopt, it does not matter where your children grew (in our house we say Slaton and Shipley grew in my belly and Eliza grew in my heart) they are all a part of something so much more- a family! These brothers were all very supportive and encouraging to one another and so helpful to their mom.

Now would you believe me if I told you that the two oldest children were not able to be there for our session.. yes, you got it, SEVEN kiddos in this family!

I really cannot get over how many sets of brothers I have photographed lately. I feel like every other family is all boy! These boys are so much fun and oh so boyish! When I arrived at the park, I could see them already down at the water, waiting for permission to get wet, muddy or both. However, they sweetly came running to greet me and we spent time in some other places before making it back down to the water. I find that all little boys love to throw rocks in the water!

When we came to this field the boys said, “my dad used to play football here” and he really did. I think, for a moment, dad was a bit nostalgic!

These brothers are so much fun and I always love working with this sweet family.

Relationships are the top reason I love what I do! I adore the children whose lives I get to be a part of. Little C. was only days old when I first photographed him. He was so precious, so ittty bitty, and so sweet. Now he is a big boy- crawling and standing and telling us all how he feels about things! It was a pleasure to spend time with him and his big brother G. We started the day in the garden at their house.

Little C. liked for his big brother to play, “this little piggy went to…..” with him!

Look at these eyes!!!!

Next, we headed upstairs to the bathtub for some splashing! Mommy said, “Splash the water a little” but G. choose to splash C.’s head instead! Good thing C. thought it was silly!

And then the sweet reward for being a great big brother….. “Da Na Na Na Na Da Na Na Na Batman”
