Dddd D Dd DddWhat is it about little 5 year old boys and the faces they make? Mom and I had a tough time getting J. to relax and not make faces. Then, this morning I photographed another little boy the same age and he too was busy making faces. I think it must be the age…. looking forward to that age with my kiddos! I already struggle to get Slaton to look natural in front of my camera.

This is a special family who I photographed first a year ago. The oldest two will begin Kindergarten this year- leaving mom with some great one-on-one time with baby L. (who is not so baby anymore).  I know that time will be precious!

Little boys crack me up

Sadly, not everyone loves my camera as much as I do. I was struck by the beauty of these two little girls. They were so sweet and playful with one another. Unfortunately, little A. did not like my camera. Each time she saw it she would start crying or turn away. Mom was wonderful with the girls and tried to steer their attention off of the camera. However, little A. was very aware of each move I made. I was tickled when I got home and somehow had captured several precious images of little A.

Not loving it….

I am sure I have mentioned before- I love my job! Yes, sometimes I get a little overworked and tired but with so many sweet, enjoyable families I get back in the game quickly. I enjoyed this family and their little fella.  L. was good natured, sweet, and all-boy. Yes folks, you can be all-boy and sweet at the same time (I have two little ones like this living in my house right now!) In fact, as I sit here and type I have a mischievous little one-year-old bouncing on the bed beside me. Each time I ask him to sit, he flashes me this beautiful grin and I can’t help but smile as I try so hard to discipline him. Ahhh- little boys- they will steal your heart!

Sweet little boy

You might remember little Miss S. She is one of my sweet baby plan babies who I photographed first about 3 months ago. This week, her big sister came in town and we all got together for some family portraits. Big sister K. is so beautiful and I loved photographing her. Even though 95% of my client base is 10 years and younger- photographing high-school age kids is lots of fun (and they actually listen to me- now that is a BONUS) :) .

The Whole Family

This client called to book a newborn session over a month ago. She asked about maternity and I told her that I certainly do maternity but I consider newborns and children my specialty. She booked the newborn session and said she would think about maternity. A few days later, after my morning at Due photographing some pregnant ladies, she booked a maternity session as a surprise for her husband. We talked about what she was looking for and I prayed I would be able to deliver.  This client was laid back, willing to try anything, beautiful, and so much fun. The one other really cool thing about S. is that she too was born and raised in Vinings/Smyrna and is exactly the dame age as me. I think it is weird that we grew up in the same city but never knew one another. Small world……

Seven day old :: Old Blog

Eeee E Ee EeeThis mommy and I traded phone calls several times over the past two weeks. By the time we talked, she was in labor. I could tell, while we were talking, she was contracting. By the next morning, when we talked, she was in the hospital holding baby A. in her arms. I could hear that sweet baby cooing and those itty bitty hiccups. We quickly set a date and time so I could photograph baby A.

The moment I met this mom, I really liked her. It was one of those sessions where everything was perfect, Mom was so sweet, dad was happy to be there (and to participate) baby A. was happy, and the house had beautiful light streaming in. This baby is already so well loved and adored. I am sure you will agree that she is a beauty.
