I want to take a moment to say how very sad I am for all the families and friends who lost love ones earlier this week at Virginia Tech. It is a tragedy on so many different levels. Please take the time to hug your children a little tighter and tell your spouse you love him/her. You never know when God might decide to call you or someone you love home.

Speaking of people we love- meet my hubby who turns 42 tomorrow! He is the GREATEST Dad and the most wonderful husband a girl could ever ask for. I am blessed a million times over having him in my life. He is my rock and my hiding place and the support he gives me is incredible. Thank you God for this wonderful man!

I wrote a post about three weeks ago telling you all how I can tell when a session is done. The baby is crying, mom is stressing, and bells and whistles are going off- USUALLY. Today, however, it was so easy to tell that little Miss S. was done. She said, "I am done taking pictures." With that- she was done. Of course I pushed her a bit more but overall she was right.. she was done. Man, little girls really do tell it like it is…. Here are some of little Miss S. and her adorable brother W.

Most of you loyal Blog readers (well, that is at least my sweet client Kristen) will recognize H. and her husband C. They are the owners of Due Maternity . Please welcome their newest addition to the family. This little gal was exactly one week old the day we photographed her. With her grand mom and her aunt looking on.. it was an all girls afternoon (well, until Daddy got home from work). We played with her, positioned her in all kinds of poses, and ooohed and ahhhed over her little tiny everything!

I would like to introduce baby E…. Isn’t she precious? What you cannot see in these images  is her brother- Roscoe the dog. Roscoe has been around for much longer than baby E. He  really wanted to be a part of our session. Seriously, he sat with me, on me, around me…. for most of the  session. He was very good.. he really just wanted to make sure that none of us forgot that he was there. So these pictures are dedicated to Roscoe the dog. We know you love baby E. just as much as we do.

This past week I was lucky enough to photograph a one month old little fella. This age baby is typically a gamble. Sometimes they curl up and sleep and I can photograph them like a newborn. However, sometimes they stay awake (with usually only one eye fully open) and they look a little odd. It tends to be a hard age for photographing. Having said that- this baby was a dream!

Baby W. slept almost the entire session. In fact, at the end of the session mom and I thought we would wake W. and do some portraits of him with his eyes open. We tried but he would not stir for us. He was the perfect sleepy baby!

Baby W.’s nursery was the perfect place for some portraits of mom and baby. Not only was it furnished beautifully but the colors are brown and blue. He,he…I love those colors (I mean they are my company colors)! 

I had the honor of photographing two of my dear friends for the cover of Our Town- Smyrna. S. and J. have been married for FOURTEEN years…  How cool is that! It was so much fun getting to photograph them around Smyrna.
