Sundays :: Old Blog

I love Sundays for lots of reasons. The first reason is that Sunday is a day of family for me. It is the one sacred day of the week that my husband and I spend every minute of our day around being a family. I love having family breakfast and getting the children dressed up for church. I adore sitting next to my husband in church and praising God through song and worship. I look forward to rushing home from church to get my crew fed and down for naps. Not much is better then the two hours of quiet that follow- giving my husband and I a chance to catch our breath and re-unite. Once our batteries are re-charged then we are ready for an afternoon of family time.

Each Sunday I also look forward to one e-mail that arrives in my in-box. It is from a very dear client who runs Wisdom. She offers all kinds of wonderful religious classes. They sound intriguing, hip and like lots of fun. I must admit that I have not had the time to try a class yet but I am looking forward to trying one before 2007 is over. If you want some wonderful words of inspiration and wisdom each week- go to Brandi’s site and add your name and e-mail. I promise you that it will give you one extra thing to love about Sunday!

Today, on my favorite day of the week, I am off for the Zoo. It is the Big-to-Do and I will be volunteering for Hospice Atlanta taking pictures of the event. It is still a family day for me- they will all be with me. I can’t think of anything I would rather do this afternoon. I will get to volunteer and have my family with me.

Enjoy your Sunday and I hope that you too will get to spend some time with your family.

Sundays

I  never thought about naming my camera. Why not though? I do spend more time with it than I do with most humans. It makes sense to name it…
Well today, little Miss J. asked me,
"What is the name of your camera?"
I honestly thought I misunderstood her little two-year-old speech.
"Excuse me?" I said.
"Your camera, what is its name?"
About here is where mom stepped in and translated for me-
"Your camera, what is its name?"
Oh well then, I was hearing her correctly.
I explained that my camera did not have a name but that I would be happy for her to name it for me. "Everett", Mom said and little J. agreed.  Evidently there are two squirrels named Everett and Elizabeth (J.’s mom will have to fill me in on where these squirrels can be seen). When Mom told J. I was coming today, J said,
"Elizabeth the squirrel?"
He, he- I hate squirrels- but that is another story altogether.
So, here is Everett the camera capturing some fabulous pictures of J. Thanks so much for finally giving my camera a much needed name! It was a blast spending the morning with you!

I am not telling who…. BUT I have had several husbands buying gift certificates for mother’s day! Now wouldn’t that be  a sweet present to unwrap Sunday morning. :) Way to go all you creative husbands out there! Your secret is safe with me!

Is there anything more darling than a little girl in a tutu? Oh my- I could eat them up.

Well, maybe a baby with lots of skin showing…

This little eight month old is too precious for words. She is my first adoption session of 2007 (thank you Lee for sending her my way). Baby A. was happy the whole session- even without her clothes on. She easily let her mom and I change her clothes, put her in a tutu, leave her naked and put her back in clothes again. Baby A. is adopted from Ethiopia and I am really looking forward to reading this mom’s blog of their journey to adopt A.
Speaking of mom- please meet this new mommy and daddy…

Baby B. :: Old Blog

Most of you will remember this little fellas face from his mom’s maternity session in an earlier blog post. Big boy O. has the sweetest personality and he was so kind and sweet to his new baby brother B.  I love this portrait of the two brothers together…

Please welcome baby B. into the world. He is one very lucky little guy to be a part of this family.

I must say KUDOS to Baby B.’s mom for this image. I saw the stool and knew I wanted to photograph Baby B. laying on it. I warned mom that the minute I put the baby on this stool there was a good chance he would urinate. Mom said that it was just fine and to go for it. Of course, almost immediately Baby B. went right on the stool. Ugg- isn’t that just the way it goes. :)

Seriously, can you resist a yawning baby? This is one of my favorite shots from the week!

I was so impressed that this mommy and daddy did such a good job getting this 5 week old to sleep for me!

Family

I enjoyed working with this family. They were so obviously in love with their little fella. Mom was expressing her disappointment that she waited five weeks before getting baby J. photographed. If you have a newborn on the way then please call me to get on the calendar before the baby is born. The newborn stage is so brief (for photographing I recommend the first two weeks of the babies life) and you do not want to miss out on it.

Last but not least- this precious nursery. Oh my, this little boy is certainly living in a nursery decorated for a little prince!
