I love love love love working with first time parents. It reminds me of when my three year old was so new. The nervousness, excitement, passion, and fierceness of the love you have for that little one. Your world is so changed and yet you love every minute of it.
I have to say, as a mom to three children three and younger, that I have lost my passion at times. Some days I feel so tired and overwhelmed, I forget how precious and exciting it all is! Families like this remind me again and again that the moments are passing and I need to keep enjoying each minute with my babies!
This family has been so blessed by baby Z.’s arrival. I wish I had taken a picture of her beautiful nursery for you all to see. It was so elegant and cozy and you could tell how much love was put into planning a special space just for Z.

How adorable is this big four year old! I photographed N. and his big sister E. back at Christmas time. So, I was thrilled to be asked to photograph N. for his four year old portraits. Mom said to me, "I think this is the last year that he will have this baby face." OOOHHH- I thought, "That means that my big boy is getting close to losing his baby face too." I just can’t stand to think of my first child getting that old- time is slipping away.

N. was tons of fun to photograph. Mom wanted some very traditional images with the black backdrop. So, we did some of those and then we got to play. N. rode his bike for me, introduced me to his new dog, played some golf, and played some baseball. All the while, Mom and I chatted, enjoyed the warm weather, caught up, and laughed at the toughness of little boys.
 

I am looking forward to working with this family over the next year.  Mom is expecting baby number 2 any time now…and I am looking forward to holding and photographing another itty bitty baby.
This mommy was so accommodating and easy to work with. When I arrived she had several outfits laid out and ready for me to pick from. I know she worked hard on organizing outfits for the family.

All these newborns are so much fun. This is baby W… my first baby BOY in a while. Having two boys myself, I always love to pull out the "blue" boy blankets and hats. Baby W.’s mommy works at Due in Vinings and has just recently moved to Atlanta. She is my kind of gal- laid back, sweet through and through and already a great mommy to this baby. I love this  portrait of mommy and baby. Can’t you just feel the love when you look at it?

This is seriously the month of new babies. This is the 7th newborn session this month and in a few minutes I am off for another newborn session. I am thinking back to what exciting event happened nine months ago to cause so many babies this month. Who knows? I just know that I love photographing their squishy little bodies and their precious little parts! Welcome to the world baby K. You are so lucky to be welcomed into such a lovely family!
