Now how beautiful is this family? Ahhhh- not too many small kids to wrangle so it was a nice change for me. :) Thanks for a great morning S. family!

We are a family…….

Well lets not tell anyone else but… I am not perfect. I make mistakes, I have really good days and really bad days and I am not always on my game. Last Friday morning I realized I had enough time to help get all the kids ready for pre-school (only Slaton attends on Friday but they all have to pile in the van to go) before I left for my 8:30 session. So, my wonderful nanny, Keita and I ran around and got everyone fed, dressed, out the door and in car seats by 8:20. I hit the road for my session feeling a bit like super mom and super photographer. However, that feeling quickly diminished when I went to get out of my car (just on time) and realized I had no camera with me. In all my hurrying around I had left the most important thing of all at the studio! Praise God not only for his grace bot for the grace of others. My clients could not have been sweeter about it and, having twins themselves, I think they understood a little bit. Luckily I was able to get back to the studio and back to their house in 15 minutes! Still, not the perfect way to start my session. So, I am publicly apologizing to the S. family for not being on my game on Friday morning. Hopefully your beautiful images will make up for it!

A not-so-secret, secret

Slaton. Today Slaton turns four years old. It seems to me that life is passing much too quickly. I am so very proud of my Slaton and I love him more than anything. Here are two pictures from his party this past weekend. Happy birthday baby…..

Happy Birthday to my little pirate….

Sorry for this repeat for all my loyal blog readers….

Just and update for 2007 bookings…. there are no spaces left.  I am still getting several requests a day for sessions but I do not have any more space for the rest of 2007. I would love to accommodate everyone but with there only being one of me, I can’t. Please keep me in mind for a session in the future and remember that it is always wise to book about 2 months in advance during January to August and about 4 months in advance for September to December. Thank you again to my loyal, wonderful clients who keep sending me all your friends. :) Love you guys!

Still booked…

Still booked…

is what I think they are called… two children who are really close in age but seperated by a small amount of months. I  did a seach for "Irish twins" and this is what Wikipedia says, "In most societies throughout the world, siblings will usually grow up together and spend a good deal of their time during childhood together. They may have conflicts during their childhood years, but usually resolve them later in life. This closeness may be marked with the development of strong emotional associations such as love and enmity. The sibling bond is often complicated and is influenced by factors such as parental treatment, birth order, personality, and people and experiences outside the family." Hmmm… the easy Elizabeth Smith version of that…. it is hard, complicated work raising multiple children no matter how close or far apart they are in age.

These Irish twin boys are so precious and sweet to one another. Actually, one of my funniest work stories is from my session with them a year ago. I was leaning over photographing baby D. and big brother J., who was just over one year old at the time, put a raisin down the back of my pants. This was my first session with this family and I think it was a great ice breaker. This family immediately became one of my favorites! This family is laid back and lots of fun!

Irish twins…

Thanks to so many of my dedicated Blog readers for writing to tell me to "get some rest." He, he.. you guys are the best. This time of the year is always nutty! Today I had to re-group and revive. Thanks to the rain I was able to grab a few minutes for me.

I am beginning a woman’s Bible study/ book club next week. I am really excited about it but, not surprisingly, I have not had time to finish the book. So, this rainy morning I grabbed my book, took off for Starbucks and enjoyed thirty minutes of Elizabeth time. I left Starbucks a new person. Revived, happy, and back in my work groove. I highly suggest you all find a few minutes for yourself over the next days. It makes a tired mommy feel a little human again.
