This post is dedicated to all of you who were adopted, want to adopt, or have adopted. As most of you know, my husband and I were blessed to welcome our little E. into our family four months ago. E. was ten months old at the time and she has quickly adjusted to life in our house.
This brings me to this little blessing you see here. This is little Miss A., a really spunky one-year-old. Her mommy and daddy adopted her when she was just a little baby. Obviously you can see that she is growing into quite a well-adjusted, beautiful little girl.
In honor of my little E. and little A. I have joined a new organization called
Celebrating Adoption The purpose of the organization is to support and encourage families who have adopted. I will be offering one free session per month to families who have adopted within the past year. If you know someone who qualifies then please pass my name onto them. These sessions will be offered on a first come, first serve basis and only one will be available per month. Blessings to all who have opened their hearts and minds to what I really consider to be the GIFT of adoption.

Adopting a beauty
I am not sure I ever "glowed" during pregnancy- but Heather does. She and her husband are expecting their first child in April and the excitement is building….
On March 31st I will be booking a ten sessions at Due Maternity- for mom’s expecting babies in late April and early to mid-May. Heather and her husband own the Due Maternity in Vinings and will be hosting me there that morning. Lucky for me, Heather was willing to let me do a test run using her as my model…. simply a beautiful mom-to-be!

The day of this session, it was so overcast and there were a few sprinkles. Mom and I talked and decided to hold off on the session until there was better weather. Then, at 2:00 when the session was to start, out came the sun. As I sat at my desk wishing we had not decided to wait, the phone rings. It was mom asking if I was still up for the session since it was so pretty. You bet! So, I grabbed my gear and ran off to meet them at the local park.
Little N. had just turned one…. such a precious age. He was a gem. He actually sat still for us when we needed him to and he was so amused by the ducks. It was so fun to work with him and his family.
Ahhh- how precious is this…..

Baby L. is six months and about the cutest girl baby I have met. She was good natured and sweet and was even willing to let us put a tutu on her. She is my kind of girl!!! Often I push babies to give me all they have got before I leave them alone. With L. I really pushed her to her limit. We all thought she might be done until her Aunt thought to put Baby Einstein on for L. to watch. Yes, it was a miracle- I got another ten minutes of photography time out of her. Thank you to Baby Einstein and the whole clan of family helping to keep L. happy!!!

Often I have the honor to photograph newborn siblings of past clients. It is so interesting to me to see how much the children favor one another. Often, seeing the new baby, I instantly remember what the older sibling looked like when he/she was that age. This happens to be the case with this family. I photographed B.’s first year of life and now I get to photograph baby D.’s first year of life! The mom of these beautiful children went to elementary and middle school with me. I had not seen her in about 15 years when she called me to ask about photography services. We quickly figured out how we knew one another. I have loved every minute of working with this family!

I find that most siblings I photograph are about two to three years apart in age. My family is not an exception. All three of our children are very close in age. In the long run it is great to have children who will grow up involved with the same friends, interests, sports….but for now, it is managed (and sometimes not managed) chaos!
I am always impressed when I enter a client’s home and there is calm. This clients home felt anything but chaotic. From the moment I walked in it was serene, nurturing and happy. Baby W. was so precious and cooperative. Big sister G. was sweet with him and actually gave me 30 seconds of still to photograph her with her brother.
